I have always been fascinated by objects in display cases, from my grandmother's stuffed Pike to the dioramas of the Natural History Museum. I particularly liked the Ethnographic Museums, which show the clever uses to which the human race has put the natural world.

My boxes recreate the feel of these display cases. The artefacts and the maps I use are carefully chosen to convey not just a geographical distance but also temporal.

That is not to say that the manipulation of natural objects isn't without its own interest to me. With subtle alterations these too can have new stories to tell.

Each box combines an unexpected narrative with humour.
